ReplyDeleteHonestly, with 2NE1's hiatus, if YG doesn't let her act, he's only hurting the group and himself. He could capitalize and get so much more from letting Dara act. She'd be on the same level as Krystal/Sulli are in SME and Suzy from JYPE. He needs to give Dara a chance. Stop stunting her. Does he not see the income opportunity?
ReplyDeleteI don't think that's be wise. Have you ever seen 2NE1 perform as three? It always feels like something is missing with one member gone and the performance isn't as good, but I do say that they should at least let 2NE1 (minus Bom) attend end of the year performances like CL with the SIA just to represent 2NE1 in general so that they can pick up their awards. They don't even have to perform.

I don't agree with just 3 performing 2ne1 songs. But what could YG do is do a subunit for 2ne1. Just to continue the promotions of 2ne1. CL is still busy in the US. Since Bom is in hiatus, I don't see the point of Minzy and Dara doing nothing. This two should not wait for the time CL and Bom can do promotions. Minzy and Dara subunit would do just fine. I am actually imagining them doing trot lol. But of course YG's favoritism:(

ReplyDeleteThey did it like a couple of times. Like in 2009 Dara wasn't there for a performance and Bom wasn't there for another performance (not sure what year), but if just ONE member of 2NE1 is missing it's like there is an imbalance and it is weird.

It is a crying shame that YGE isn't thinking of their resources. Every last member of 2NE1 is walking money be it solo promotions wise or together. I hate people who always blames Bom, i know that people wish other member to have more activities individually. Its not like i don't want them to be but i really prefer myself to see them not working and goes on vacation or focusing on something else that will not work up their self due to overwork. I know that how people wish her to act, but to me let me be honest i don't have a full faith on her acting. Maybe because i haven't see her acting material during her prime in the Philiphines ? I know she can pull it off, but i prefer this rather than having her to get bash by some 'highly knowlegdeable netizen'

ReplyDeleteI agree EXCEPT for the last part. 2NE1 are all visuals. YG screwed Dara over by not letting her career expand beyond 2NE1. It's still not too late but I cry for all the years wasted. I hope Dara's first official/serious acting role (under 2NE1) would be phenomenal. It all depends on the material and production value since Dara and her acting are sure ball alrdy.
Watch the her comedy skit with Steven Yeun, she's a natural. She did a lot of ad-lib which shows her wit, and her timing's on point.

ReplyDeleteyou can compare all you want but for us here, Dara blows the other two youngsters away. They are babies next to her age and yet she is by far more stunning. The other two are pretty but their look for me is more sassy, or cocky and just surface beauty. Dara glows from outside and within.

lol wtf....- - im a huge dara's fan and i think that way too but i know the public in korea doesnt... and thats y i think its such a pity for her because yg didnt promote her enough when she was younger. i dont even like suzy and krystal lmao but realistically most teens wouldnt not fangirl/fanboy over someone whos 30 when there are idols in their 20's. but all things aside, of course i think she will be popular as an actress

She would be as popular as Suzy now (in korea) if YG took those offers of her acting in a drama since way back then but he didn't. Yet all of 2NE1 gets stuck wearing awful outfits all the time. Seriously with all the money an prestige they have , can they please hire better stylists? She was able to shine a bit during 2NE1's I Love You and Missing You era. But the Crush album era just brought back edgy Dara.

Suzy, Sulli, and Krystal are looked at as pretty idol actresses, but comparing them to ACTUAL actresses in their thirties, K-Netizens say they pale in comparison.
