ReplyDeleteThere's really nothing we can do, even though i want them to debut and be successful as soon as possible, no other company aside from SM(which probably wont take them) can offer/has whatever YG has. There's a reason they stayed, im sure they discussed it with their families. I wish they would to their military enlistment before debuting tho, just so when they debut, they wont have to leave their fans hanging. Hongseok is 22, with the phase things are going he could debut at age 24 or 25 and in the kpop world that's really late unless you've already enlisted like 2AM's Changmin

ReplyDeleteTrainees who have stayed in a company (specially YG) at a very young age have a higher likelihood of debuting (GD @13, Minzy @12, BI@13). Bang Yedam started training at age 12, companies can easily mold younger trainees to fit whatever image they would like to portray in the future. Also because they trained earlier, the company has also invested more in them (lodging, food, facilities). These people are less likely to leave once they debut as well. After Winner and iKON, expect a minimum of 3-5 years before another boy group. By that time Bang Yedam is 17, pefect age for an idol debut

They will cut him faster then anything. Only can he get away w/it in YG because YG isn't so choreography oriented. Loen & JYP maybe, but it's their promotion vs YG's promotion…. You decide which is the better option.
i seriously can't w/people who think YG will repeat the same mistake again & let another company eat off of what they created & think that under another, those 2 will debut next week. Since they're going to train for awhile again & possibly debut in the near future, YG's i re-iterate the BEST place for them. Best place to hone their skills & best promotions for success. So, yes YG's greedy but he created that name recognition & he can make wonders w/it.

I rooted for Jinseok from the start in spite of the rumors and the evil editing because I could see they are much better than Chanwoo from the beginning. Why are ppl so bent on him debuting them as a boygroup? What if he debuted them as solos/unit? Difinetly there won't be any new YG boygroup for the next 5 years, and i think it's waaaaay better for them not be part of iKON or to be in a group! They get more freedom on their songs/concepts and their income doesn't get devided that much.

ReplyDeleteYou're worrying too much. This is YG we're talking about, out of all companies out there, YG protects his artists the most. Just look at how articles about Hanbin's father disappeared. People debut with scandals and rumors all the time (example; Taehyun from WINNER) but they end up doing well. This won't affect iKON especially because Hanbin wasn't the one at fault, his father is.
ReplyDeleteBYD team actually might debut even later than 3-4 years since YG kind of made their family bigger in two years (Hayi, AkMu, WINNER, iKON and the upcoming girlgroup). I doubt YG would put out another group by then already, especially since that means that they might have overlapping promotions. Minimum of another boygroup would be 5 or maybe 6 years from now.
ReplyDeleteHongseok is old compared to the other iKON members, but he's actually pretty young. EXO is from the same idol generation as them and their maknae is a 94 liner, just like Hongseok. Better example: Aren't all WINNER members (except for Taehyun but he's a 94 liner as well) older than Hongseok? Red Velvet also has 91-liners. Dara and Bom debuted when they were 23-24 years old. Hongseok isn't old, but by the time that YG will debut another boygroup he will be. Who knows, maybe JinSeok will improve quickly and /do/ debut as a duo or solo, wasn't Se7en the last?

Their 2- year hiatus cant compare either because even then, fans and the public still got updates on them. You wont get an update from someon who's serving unless he's in a scandal or was injured while serving. There's a huge difference
