[Instiz] Original trends set by YG which other companies now follow

Trends set by YG first which other companies now also follow:
  • Mini albums
  • Digital singles
  • Family/Company Concerts (YG's One Concert in 2003 was the first)
  • Family/Company Albums (July 1999)
  • Double title tracks, all title tracks
Source: Instiz

[1] "Wow I wasn't aware of most of these."

[2] "It was really fresh and new when they came out with those double title tracks."

[3] "Wow, even a digital single and family concerts..."

[4] "YG was really the first to come out with double and even triple title tracks."

[5] "I read this from an interview of a YG producer.  They said they don't get their songs from other people.  It's their own producers or their own artists who spend months to years pouring their heart and soul and investing money and energy to make these songs.  So to release 10 of these songs in a full-length album at the same time seemed like a bit of a waste.  That's why they planned mini-albums and digital singles to showcase each song."

[6] "People might get confused but they changed their company concert to 'YG Family Concert' since 2010.  Before that they called it 'YG ONE Concert'.

[7] "I thought the list would include survival shows ㅋㅋㅋ"

[8] "I thought it was SM that was first but both companies are amazing."

[9] "Because of those mini-albums........ just how long must we wait for a full Big Bang album?"

[10] "As expected of YG.... no wonder he's earning so much money"

[11] "Thinking of Yang Hyun Suk makes me shudder... but you gotta admit that he's smart.  I feel like other companies are also thinking of debuting their trainees through survival programs now too."

[12] "They're also the first to have their trainees do everything except for debuting."

Yang Hyun Suk is indeed a marketing genius. He has one of the best visions about the market. But he is bad at management, thats where he needs some help. And please hire a new PR team also.

  8. I'm sorry if you've met 'some' YG stans who brag about this kind of stuff. I don't think this was meant to put down other companies. It's just showcasing the innovative ideas YG's had and how it's impacted the industry as a whole which is pretty awesome.

'Some' sm stans really love to stir up the things first and then act like a victim.

  16. YG: I lead, others follow.

    ReplyDelete
  17. True, but SMStans/haters wont admit it because all YG does is "steal" from the West & follow SM's lead…..
but really, YG has really changed the game. Also, w/BB's solos, they've shown that solos don't mean the end of a group, soloists can exist w/in a group.
Because of BB's success, almost every KPop group now is created w/a lyricist/composer/producer w/in the bunch.
YG has done A LOT & people wont admit to it.

  18. oh look an SM stan in denial. y'all so loud about SM starting everything. pride hurt that SM isn't the only "genius"?

    ReplyDelete
  19. And what's your problem?

    ReplyDelete
  20. They know yg has done a lot of amazing shit but haters don't want to admit it. Bcs.. well its yg..not their bias. It aches them to see ygent success.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Heh I would change 'some' to 'most'. They are the one who loves to drag other groups and makes their favs looks superior. And then when people called them out, they pull the victim cards and act innocent. Most of them also go around and bash other groups' s talent while they are stanning sment, the company with the most useless idols. LOL The biggest hypocrisy ever.

YG stans do have the most dedicated haters, but I dont think we should seek for their "approval". So what if they dont admit it and stay in denial. Let them be. We are called Royal Flush for a reason haha

Fight between SM and YG has been around for a decade now. Both stan the biggest companies with most popular idols and they excell in different areas and have extremely polar opposite image each other. Biggest 'stans' in kpop fandom. SM and YG want this rivalry to exist, it helps their business. Its inevitable. But I feel like older generation YG fans were much cooler handling stuffs like this, we tried to live up to the name 'Royal Flush' (nickname for YG stans) haha.

  28. What I like is that the whole YG albums are always filled with title-track-worthy songs, so I don't regret buying any. The quality they put into each album is just amazing.

Well lets not forget the "who is next" catchphrase! That shit still haunts me to this day.
Damn its been years since YG announced that he will release BIGBANG music via mini album and digital single and people in the media and the entertainment were ridiculing him and now look they copy it and here we are 7 years and waiting for their second full length album! YG is always innovative and that what sets them apart. Haters just dont want to admit that. YG's creative and planning department is really jjang!

  31. YG started the trainee survival show too right? Now Sistar's company is doing one too

    Dont forget the "who's next?" /side eye-ing starship/

  37. Yg family was the first before sm town, jyp nation and cube united whatever. Non yg fans should stop with yg not a family thing. Course they're not, its just a name thats stick with them.

And they even used the "Who's next?" They have no shame.

  40. Fernanda_YGFamily17 January 2015 at 07:30

I think even with a new PR team, they would still not say a word. It's very YG to ignore rumors and controversies. I used to hate this, but now thinking about it, it does make sense in some cases, however it shouldn't be their default "answer" for everything. Sometimes it's very frustrating.

You can hate the guy, but he is a genius.

For some reason i was singing 2ne1's song "Follow me" in my head while reading this.

  43. YG inspired a lot of companies and also a lot of their artists inspired others as well (like how many idols said they look up to big bang?). to be honest YG has a lot of influence in K-pop scene and is really on par with SM now as the most powerful companies. Especially when YG rooster is growing bigger and bigger each year.

    ReplyDelete
  44. You should know YG haters are the most dedicated haters in kpop. They know a lot about yg artists more than the fans. Lol obsessed much.

    ReplyDelete
  45. so when is bigbang comeback?

    ReplyDelete
  46. [12] "They're also the first to have their trainees do everything except for debuting."

even YG trainee come and perform at MAMA. The one and only YG doing this ^^

  52. I can still remember back in 2010 when YG announced that 2ne1 will be having 3 title tracks from their To Anyone album.. everybody's talking about it coz it's a first..

    ReplyDelete
  53. Well not only the things stated above, YG fams are also the trendsetter in fashion!!!! So proud of how YG fams become the leader in every aspects. But then once again, bitter SM stans won't agree.

    ReplyDelete
  54. They also said that SM started the genre, Kpop...
but no, it's Seo Taiji and Boys who started Kpop... w/c was the group YG/Yanggoon first debuted in....

    ReplyDelete
  55. Not to mention that YG is also the first one to release Dance Practice Videos...
    so many firsts in YG...

    ReplyDelete
  56. On the Picture above, who is the Blondy in EpikHigh ? xD

    ReplyDelete
  57. I might be from the minority that actually doesn't really dislike YG's Management methods, there are some parts that need to be fixed True, but I'm overall satisfied with the least we're getting, because it's always of good quality :)
So waiting is just something I don't mind anymore
