YG made his Instagram in 2012 and I think he followed almost everyone who already had an Instagram at that time. Dara made her Instagram account much, much later than everyone else (November 2013) so YG didn't get to follow her.

Beside of her 15& and solo activities, she co-hosted on ASC and appeared on other variety shows. Hi might not fit for variety/talk shows but she seems to be more out-going and gotten more confidence so I think it's time for her to do more things and appear in the public eye now.

She's a visual member. He should've been pushing Dara visually since. Acting is full-proof. Now Dara has to play catch up to people like Suzy and Krystal. I am glad though that she brushed up her skills. Towards the end of Dr. Ian, I honestly forgot I was looking at Dara as an idol, because she gave such a great actress vibe. It can only get better from here.

She likes interacting with fans and does have funny/quirky moments that would have worked if she weren't required to follow a detailed 'variety' type script in front of the cameras. It's a damn shame that this wasn't explored earlier in their careers.
ReplyDeleteThe reason why the disbandment rumors have always been so prevalent with 2NE1 is that unlike Big Bang, YG never even as much encouraged the girls to try things, no matter how small they would have been. It was always "They're bad at this, they're too _____ for this." with the group. No one is demanding for the girls to get big-scale solo projects right off the bat, people just want YG to give them a small push so they can grow as individuals without completely abandoning the group.
That I can see. She got a lot of praise for hosting a radio show. Dara is someone who can be pushed in a lot of ways. Acting, radio hosting, MCing...she's good at those things and YGE doesn't find time to promote her like that...
