Akdong Musician receives 4 nominations from 2015 Korean Music Awards


"The 2015 Korean Music Awards revealed their list of nominees -- Akdong Musician received four nominations in total including Rookie of the Year, Best Pop Album, Best Pop Song, and Netizen's Choice Artist of the Year.

    Me too, and from the comments the Korean netizens are as well.. I don't know Korean 100% but one of the comments for that article discussing idols was like "Yeah, we don't care" LOL

    Me too. Is it some sort of trend in the comments these days? Cus Ive been reading netz comments and theres always a top comment like "____ is a million times better than EXO" or something like that. Totally uncalled for. I'd rather them praise someone without putting down another.

    I'm still upset over the year end awards and that we couldn't get to see 2NE1 perform on most of them..
    Anyway, I'm really glad Akmu got nominated, they deserve it.

    Seriously this year could have been soooooo goooood with year end performances. I didn't even care about awards but I was still anticipating for their stages, MAMA 2011 was still THE best

    I remember reading awhile back that the criteria for the Korean Music Award is a bit different compared to the other award shows. The usual award that idol groups win is either the "Netizen Vote Award" or the "Best Dance & Electronic Award". Which makes sense if you think about it. You can google past winners and you can see not many idols win. I'm honestly surprised that YG artists got that many nominations.

    this is the equivalent of the Korean Grammy, so of course there are no idol groups. They have a "best dance & electronic song" category which is usually the idol consolation awards category.

    #1 yes, leave exo alone. this isn't coming from a fan of them but poor boys suffered enough throughout the year. this isn't their fault that the awards ceremony system is rigged, plus as long as they allow fan voting i don't think we can really complain about it. they need to realize that exo will stay relevant if they keep mentioning them on every unrelated articles.

    This is the 12th Korean Music Awards.. they haven't even had their ceremony yet, it's in Feb. +Neither EXO or F(x) are nominated for this one. You're probably thinking of a different awards ceremony.

    It's just frustrating to see them being hated on because of their fandom size......so if they had less fans they would be considered worthy of winning? lol

    Korean music awards is known for having no relation to fandom size and fan power so the awards are based on pure musical quality based by non biased judges and NOT fans....

    Exo already won awards at korean music awards tho last year......f(x) too the year before so i dont know why they are being insulted.........

    I'm not saying they don't deserve it. I actually do like a lot of their songs. It's just there are other groups out there with great albums this year that these award shows failed to recognize. Not to mention these award shows' voting and award criteria are problematic too. (I.e no show no award, etc.)

    Yeah but tbh what we consider a good album is subjective right?

    To blackjacks crush was the best album of last year but to exo fans their album was really good too I really liked red light's album too and IU's album...but its all subjective


    its easier to be objective when it comes to awards and base it on actual sales where there is no error...am i wrong?


    Im an exo/f(x) fan but i support winner too so i come here to check them out and i see hate n its tiring...

    so did 2ne1, they won the year before fx and big bang too, no one is saying the music by idols are bad, it's just there is better, and i don't mean this in a bad way at all, it's just that idols are comparable to teen stars in korea and just like in the US they aren't as respected in the general public as actual singers except maybe big bang (it's like comparing coldplay to justin bieber tbh)

    there's infinite in artist/group of the year and not all the categories is are here so there probably is some idols but not as much as other award shows.
