- Miss A's Suzy and YG Entertainment will be appealing the rulings of their publicity rights cases after their lawsuits were dismissed by the Seoul Central District Court for similar reasons.
- YG Entertainment claimed damages against 'Company S' alleging that the company had "used without permission the names, photos, etc. of the agency's artists including PSY, G-Dragon, and CL."
- The court's ruling was similar to that of Suzy's case: "There is no need to recognize, on top of the right to one's image and one's name, a separate publicity right, which is the right to commercially use them [one's image and ones' name]." The court further explained, "The doll that imitates PSY doesn't look similar to PSY's outer appearance."
- YG Entertainment filed an appeal on March 5th according to a legal insider. (Source: 1, 2)

1. [+1701, -57] Of course this kind of issue needs to be addressed. They're illegally using an artist's image without permission...! Imagine if the rice soup restaurant next door used your picture on their sign. Wouldn't you be bewildered and angry too? Is there anyone out there who likes having their own pictures used inappropriately? Can people just do whatever they want to celebrities' photos? They're right in addressing this type of problem so why are people criticizing them for it?
2. [+854, -456] YG should be sorting out their drug scandal first ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
3. [+670, -404] Has YG placed a drug prevention training class for their artists?
4. [+149, -12] It's not even right for a business to just use a celebrity's picture however they want to
5. [+62, -2] There's a lot of people misunderstanding. The shopping mall that sold 'Suzy hat' also used Suzy's pictures like a model for their site...
6. [+62, -5] I honestly don't understand how Suzy lost her case
7. [+53, -5] The shopping mall used Suzy's pictures to sell their goods. It's not just her name that they used without permission.
8. [+37, -3] A celebrity makes money through their face and name... Of course those businesses can't just use it for free.

They are usually smaller companies that can't afford big names like Suzy or a yg artist
I know there will be comment like 2 & 3 lol
Even if the comments are bad, I hope admin will translate that too. (:
No. 2 and 3 are the reasons why BB promotes less and less in Korea
haters are so stupid. tbh, its so unfair for Bom because she didn't said anything regarding those 5 years old issue that been brought back by someone who i believe doing this just to made YG falling down.

Maybe you should just get a life...
The court's ruling doesn't make sense, ""There is no need to recognize, on top of the right to one's image and one's name, a separate publicity right, which is the right to commercially use them [one's image and ones' name]." it sounds like their saying your face and photos can be used without your consent, which defeats the point of celebrities being paid to endorse specific products and can impact their brand/commercial value as endorsers beyond their control which is unfair.
People should have rights over the publicity of their own image, at least to the extent of agreement to it, I don't understand how the court can excuse that and use that logic as justification.
and bigbang next..i pretty sure when bigbang comeback, somebody gonna throw shit to them..and im quite worried with ikon too since they have a lot of haters even before debut and im afraid they gonna nitpicking ikon..
okay, f*ck i totally foresee that BIGBANG's gonna get screwed over by some scandal-maker, i guarantee.
Publicity rights/personal rights are the right to the brand that hence is created by YG and it's artists. Natural rights are a little bit more viable to also add. I am trying to search for the case and it's descriptions, but no luck. Manufacturer "S" has violated the rights of the artists and entertainment agency by even touching The Brand"! And the fact that they are naking money, intent on turning a profit...this hurts the persona of the Label, the artists, their families, and their fans on so many levels. An appeal is very good, but what basis was the judge looking at to give a ruling as such? *Note to self...study SoKo laws on spare time*
Jurisdiction of persons have been violated...
I seriously want to see this casefile. #IJNIP #GD #Psy #CL #YGent. #HWAITING
-prayers to all that are involved ,even "S" to have a moral clause in what they are doing-#IJNIP
