YG remains silent after B.I's father, Kim Jeong Ju CEO, is charged with embezzlement

Source: Joseon Ilbo via Naver

1. [+1383, -414]  We're not in the Joseon era anymore.  Should the son give up his dreams for his father's crimes?

2. [+1075, -305]  This kid who has gone through two survivals and received his own pain, what exactly has he done wrong... To a kid who's only about to officially debut and receive love... It must have been tough on him all this time. He's finally just about to be able to do what he loves but now...

3. [+997, -31]  Of course he has to debut...;

4. [+811, -155]  It was the same for Han Hyo Joo.  B.I's suffering because of his dad.

5. [+551, -83]  I know that there's no reason for B.I to receive hate but please write your comments carefully after you've thought of the victim's perspective.  Don't you know how hurt the victims or their families would be if they read these comments?

6. [+162, -70]  Leave B.I out of it

7. [+130, -39]  I understand that B.I is someone special to his fans and I know that he's not the bad guy.  But the victim's and their families don't want to see the criminal's son on TV... this isn't something to shield.  YG is staying silent too.

8. [+170, -79]  I'm sorry, is B.I's father an artist debuting under YG too?;;  Why does YG have to speak about their side on this ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ B.I is just a nineteen-year old kid who's trying to achieve his dream ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ

9. [+165, -76]  He obviously has to debut.  It's not even his fault.

10. [+95, -7]  That family is an anti.  B.I has practiced and spent years training just to debut.  He doesn't even know how to get to Busan, couldn't go out with his friends, he only trained and filmed for at least three survivals staying as late as 4 a.m. training and training.  That kid is just about to debut... and his father is the one ruining it for him.

11. [+173, -85]  Why can't B.I debut... this isn't any of his doing

I'm not a ikon stan but I do feel bad for him. He's just about to debut after so many years of hard working, failing and getting up again. It saddens me when they do things like that especially since he's not directly involved. Good on YG staying silent is none of they business but Hanbin's dad and the people involved. Hope everything will work out

YG PRESS, thank you for covering this article.

smh at people asking for an explanation of some sort from YG. this isn't their place & it's not their business.

Last year, during WIN, I was worried that Hanbin was so sheltered that he has nothing to write about because he had no real life pains. One year, 3 survival shows, his father's case, people crying for him to leave his team, and a lot of hateful comments later, HANBIN has gone through so much. What a difference a year has made.

Still, writing about this issue can only bring him hate though

yg will adopt bi

The craziest thing abt these haters is that they have conveniently forgotten who the father of the current President of Korea is. That man is 1 of the most infamous dictators in Asia, God knows how many people he killed. By the "logic" of their outcry, how is this current president even in office lmao

PS. I'm freaking disgusted with NB and the way that blog purposefully seeks out hateful articles to flame the YG hate. We would all be misled by that blog's one-sided picture if not for YGPress

Comments no8 makes me crack up. Finally someone with so much sense.

You know, NB always post controversial articles with most -ve comments to take people interest. I rarely saw good comments that they translated.

Na na na, she very RARELY posted anything nice abt YG & regularly post both +ve & -ve articles about SNSD & some others regularly.

"... to take people interest" or rather, to gain traffic for her blog. I'm sure YG the company in general is not her only victim. We are blessed to have YGPress to tell the other side of the story, and to realise that YG is not as hated as NB would want us to believe. Fanbases of other big groups (like SNSD) have their own blog to translate articles (regarding their biases) with positive comments that would never appear on NB. Again, bless YGPress for covering ALL YG artists :)

Thank You! Sensible netizen comments...mto reiterate, BI is 19, his sister is what 4-5? Are they really going to blame those kids for what the dad did? Jesus, sin isn't hereditary.

I think let BI debut and let his father deal with his crimes. Seeing as how he never talked about his dad but his mom and sister made visits on both survival shows, I think his family's having a hard time with his father. He didn't do the crime and this may sound insensitive but it's the harsh truth: you can't expect other people to suffer along your sufferings, no matter who it is. My friend's uncle got killed because his best friend ran away with a debt yet the kids in that family go to school together and are on the same sports team. It's life. Let the people who did their crimes pay and don't pull in anymore unnecessary people into the misery to comfort your pains, even if you were wronged. That's just victimizing another innocent person.

Why should YG comment on it? The company has nothing to do with it! Knetz are getting more stupid by the minute! Are many South Koreans really this prejudiced and all-encompassing? From where I am sitting right now, they don't look so good to me.

ShineShimmerSplendid said...

Maybe they want BI to reflect too!!! Boooooooo Knetz!

If you want him out so much, might as well blame little hanbyul while you're at it.

I am not sure if you guys read one of her "About me" posts but she mentioned how she loved SM artists and now moving onto other groups like Apink..etc...But that she still a casual listener of artists like TVXQ, BoA and Snsd who got her into Kpop. So NB is basically an SM fansite.

Look up the Zico article, she is a fangirl on BlockB so she only put ones that made it seam like it wasn't that bad

"But the victim's and their families don't want to see the criminal's son on TV."

Turn off your TVs, it's that simple! you're not the only people in this world.. Hanbin worked so hard for this and we waited for years for their debut. The world doesn't just revolve around you, i understand that you are hurt and i am so sorry for that but we can't turn back time & it's not the child's fault what his father did. Why must he suffer with you? WHY MUST WE SUFFER WITH YOU?

And YG has nothing to do with Hanbin's father, they signed Hanbin not his father.

anne said...

she rarely post anything about YG before unless it's about their comeback songs/album/MVs but personally? nah, unless it's a 'negative one'.. she's obviously a hater & i saw her comment on her own blog saying Sandara isn't really pretty and her looks is so overrated then compared her to Jisoo, she's causing fanwars too in the same family fandom.

anne said...

i came across with sones too before, they posted a pre debut picture of 2NE1 saying they're ugly and had lots of surgeries so as a revenge.. i also posted snsd's pre debut pictures then she (admin) deleted it but not the one posted by sones, i posted it again and again but it will only get deleted in the end lol

He is just 18 years old, just look and see what he has done and achieved at this age. Just recall what he had to suffer. Just imagine the weight of pressure on his shoulder. And then JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE, HATERS!

Lumiere said...

I am writing in broken English
..but I think will understand .. families remaining on the street is better to think about how to survive , and not as revenge on the family of the guilty ... the world is full of crap , but you are now behaving like shit ... you do not want to help these people , and only want to make a fuss ... no one thought about how to open an account to help these families . If one is reset Korea would not be a large sum for these people , then you would have helped them ... but only around thinking about how to make the suffering of the man who almost was not guilty ... you are sure that your father lived a clean life? Confident that his conscience no injured people ? If you believe that just embrace it now and promise to live an honest life .

what the hell is wrong with these netizens bringin down hanbin. does he have to reflect because of his father's fault? he's just a boy who want to be an entertainer for fucks save. koreans always finding flaws of someone just to bring them down. uGH I HATE THIS.

Ghade said...

Agree. Im a constant visitor of NB and honestly, its kinda depressing to read all her negative translated comment and take note she said that her blog doesnt reflect the majority of korean netizen sentiment. With all those negativity like duh. I really like YG press and most of the time I visit here it makes me smile.

Ghade said...

What you did is DAEBAK. Thanks for doing that. Lol NB SM stan. Lol

Ghade said...

If korea dont want to see in BI in tv then its okay the world is big especially for YG artist. IKON fanbase in Japan and China is not a joke either. Ill definitely wait for then in January. Sorry Korea youre not only place where iKON can succeed.

Let's say that B.I. doesn't debut. Does that mean that his father's crimes are going to be erased? No. Or does it mean that the many lives of the incident are going to be compensated for? No. I mean maybe it might make the victims feel "better" for a second. But that's really foolish of the netizens to think so. If B.I.'s dad really, sincerely cared for B.I., the best thing he could do right now for his son is to turn himself in, compensate the money, and give a sincere apology. But that just won't be easy. I guess it's up to his father. Anyway I sincerely wish the best for B.I., his family, the victims, yg family, and ikon...
