Post: 'Idols that the Big Three lost and missed out on' [+235, -28]

1. [+164, -19] CUBE took all the kids JYP didn't take in... now that I think about it I wonder if JYP would be an even more successful company if Hong Seung Sung was still the president
2. [+122, -36] GD ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I don't even want to imagine it
3. [+95, 0] But SM had a reason for the ones they let go if you look at them later ㅋㅋㅋ Plus SM is hardly the type that lets people go, the kids themselves personally leave. GD was taken in and adored by Lee Soo Man but GD left because he felt that it wasn't his music style.... Lee Soo Man's really got an eye for things though ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
4. [+74, -39] Fans of idols in small companies are always cursing the big three companies with their victim mentality and inferiority complex but seeing your idols listed in this post has shut you up ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
5. [+55, 0] Lee Soo Man took in GD with a good impression but GD left himself because he was more into hip-hop music. Then Yang Hyun Suk took in GD ㅋㅋ Seems like GD has been talented ever since he was young
6. [+45, 0] As for YG and SM, even if they did lose those people I don't think they feel any regrets about it.
7. [+44, 0] Spica Kim Bohyung and Hot Shot Timoteo? How did the big three miss out on them... only those kids who are popular and successful fit the phrase "missed out on"...
8. [+36, 0] I don't get it... to be honest YG probably doesn't regret losing those people. They have so many kids earning more money for them than those people anyway ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
9. [+31, -6] JYP lost EXO Xiumin
10. [+31, -3] Add AOA's Choa to JYP's list
11. [+30, -4] JYP what the heck ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ They lost so many

Didn't JYP fire the person who didn't scout IU? LOL why are there so many though omg
I can't imagine what GD and CL would be like now if they didn't go to YG.
GD in SM..... I can't even imagine that LOL. Btw JYP's scouting crew needs to change lmfao
So true, I could never imagine them anywhere else but YG
CL in Miss A, GD in SHINee lmfao
JYP : iKON's Donghyuk? And also Hongseok? :D
I'm curious what is Lee So man thinking when he see GD nowaday ???
True but I think they aren't listed since they haven't debuted yet so the netz don't consider them established idols yet
Imagine GD in Super Junior...omg...as much as I like GD in varities but that's no no LOL
though gd's very successful, i don't think he'd regret it that much.. gd just wouldn't fit in SM and even he himself knew that haha. anyway LSM has some pretty good idols/artists under his belt too so I don't think he regrets it all that much
yeah just pointing out who else JYP missed :D
JYP....... they lost a few gems but I think it worked out better that way anyway.
oh jaehyo was in jyp? i don't remember that?
I can kind of imagine CL in Miss A but GD in Shinee I can't picture it LOL
Add jinhwan and donghyuk to JYP too
i really dont think anyone like GD will come out in the next few years, just like seo taiji, i think he's already a legendary idol.
:)
Wow Jinhwan was in JYP too? I know he auditioned for SM but I don't know he did for JYP
Maybe GD in TVXQ since GD & BB & them are friends. Or SuJu
yg prob so proud of himself to have taken in GD
Lol i was about to say "jinhwan to SM and donghyuk to JYP" but well my bad
hahaha it's ok ^^
Haeryeong was in JYP too
SM and YG probably have no regrets over what happened to their past trainees, JYP on the other hand
+ SM: Kim Jinhwan
Poor JYP
The funny thing is... most of the ex jyp trainees can sing really good and have the basics down... xD
OMG He is creeping soo hard in that picture.
I thought gikwang was with JYP along with the other three ?
At one point Bohyung was the only trainee left in YG (after 2NE1 debuted and before YG became a public company.) He didn't know what he was going to do with her and facilitated her move to b2m. If anything YG made sure Bohyung could succeed elsewhere because he couldn't do it. He kind of did the same for Gummy. But now it's just a throng of kids all for themselves, tossed out if you aren't up to par.
Yeah, I think YG had good intentions for Gummy and Bohyung (although it could've been easily avoided in the first place). Wheesung is kinda the same as well?
Donghyuk case is kinda different. Donghyuk actually won the audition in 2012 but he chose YG in the end so he left on his own will. Not sure about Hongseok, did he chosen to be JYP trainee?
Yeah but I don't think GD would have done the same had he been in SM which is why I think Lee Soo Man probably acknowledges that it was the best for GD to have been in yg
what i was thinking too
I think SM wouldnt utilize GD talent to the fullest... he would be just another kind of idol who is cute af and maybe a great dancer since SM focus on Choreography and GD seems pretty good in it even when he doesn't really focus on dancing with his Solos and Big Bang. I hope no offense to anyone but GD wouldn't be as big as he is now too. I think everything happened for the best. SM might regret at times since it almost seems like it's GD their ex trainne who made YG to be as big and is an enemy to them in business view.
Unless Bohyun became famous YG wouldn't regret losing her. Jun.K and Hyunseung are done they already reached their peak but I think if Hyunseung was to debut in YG he would be a lot bigger than he is now as individual. JYP on the hand.... omg cry blood. Hyorin and IU... i know it wasnt JYP fault but it is still damn funny to me lol. Now now , if ChoA and Hani become as famous as Suzy he probably cries himself to sleep everynight.
His eyes tho...
I think GD will success even if he's in SM. He might not be as talented as now (well, he basicly said that his talent came from his homework given by YG) but he has charm.
But then again, thank God he's in YG now. If not, I couldnt imagine this world with no TOP in mint hair Fantastic Baby era. XD
I actually wouldn't mind CL in Miss A because she wouldn't be overshadowed by Suzy. Plus, the "Hush" and "Touch" concepts on CL would be fabulous. Can you imagine?
Oh so Donghyuk was never a JYP trainee? But he won the JYP trainee audition though...what was the prize then? Hongseok was found in JYP trainees' clips so I guess he went there too
omg I forgot GD was the one who brought TOP to YG xD
thank God GD found YG (or the other way around)
Cube's CEO was with JYP so didn't a lot of trainees just transfer when Cube was set up? C'mon now
And I know CL just naturally switched

Omg i would love to see Spica Bohyung as a solo artist from YG , i feel like they couldve done alot with her deep sultry voice.
I sort of agree that it would be more annoyance over the consequence of strong competition, and not from LSM but perhaps the board of directors.
For a decade SM was really miles ahead of any other idol business but in the last 5 years the other companies have advanced to make the market more competitive and SM has to work with them as part of the 'big 3' rather than enjoy the monopoly over the market. SM is still more dominating in the entertainment industry with more connections and associates but other companies are developing around that. SM is still the best for developing a large and dedicated customer (fan base) that is stable and have relatively the best success overseas however again other companies are following them in the Japanese and chinese markets and doing well.
GD, is not the only reason YG is a strong competitor but he's contributed a lot to the profit of the company and thus its growth, the success and fame of BigBang have given them respect and influence SM has not gained in the same capacity and allowed YG to approach other markets more directly such as Fashion branding and attracting the attention of big brands to invest in the company from overseas. So he has played a important and irreplaceable role in the companies survival following Se7en's success and bringing it forward at the rate it has along with the rest of BigBang, which has given YG the money to stabilise by investing in other areas and expanding.
I'm 99% sure that yg ain't regretting letting go of jun.k, hyunseung & bohyung tbh~
P.S. JYP you poor soul lol
Now that's a parallel universe I wanna see, but not be in.
Jyp lost CL and he regretted btw. YG on the winning end of the stick.
Rather than regret, it more a matter of how well a company works for the people in it. YG has negotiated people leaving the company because the company could not provide for them or they did not meet the company standards at the time (and business needs to consider the immediate costs). If the company is not right it might not be possible for a person to flourish and its a difficult things to know. There is a place for everyone and people do better elsewhere. Without knowing the reasons for them leaving it is hard to say if it would be regretful, if they were a damaging influence in the company than its a relief that they are gone or the company doesn't think they work in their plans and objectives that they might be happy they found somewhere more suitable.
Business relies on people getting along. Recent problems in SM show how lack of good work relationships can partially undermine success and cause problems in the long run.
It have to do with how the company works:
-They might have had to get rid of many due to the expense of keeping them. JYPEs profit have declined over the years and if they took on many while at their peak than they would get rid of proportionally more.
-The family atmosphere of the company can be stifling and excluding if people do not fit in or agree with the mindset of the other people.
-They do not feel they are being allowed to do the music or work they like and do not want to fight to get what they want when someone more suitable is easily available elsewhere.
-They might feel frustrated if they have a lot of drive (like CL) but feel the company is not allowing that to go anywhere.
-They might not feel the training provided by the company is helping them progress or they do not agree with what the training emphasizes e.g. breathy singing.
Jinhwan was just part of sm academy, not the training program .theyre different
Gd got popular mostly due to his compositions, which he wouldn't have if have if he were under sm
May I ask what SM Academy is?
It will end up being CL, Suzy and the girls
Add Junhoe, he won. JYP singing audition but left them to go to YG
YG Has lost dimonds too like Eunbi, Michelle, May Dani wasn't Zico going to be a trainee or was for a while?
Jun.k, Hyunseung, Bohyung can't even compare to those up there.
Just by naming them I already see a charisma that defines them but the bottom even halfway through their careers seem to lack that luster. And sorry but Bohyung is nonexistent.
Those who left YG where either kicked out, training was unbearable, pressure from the competition, or inpatient and saw the opportunity for a faster debut elsewhere. Others who left and debuted still arnt doing all that stellar because they still arnt polished enough.
SM only kept pretty kids or kids who dance well
JYP lost a goldmine of talents because whoever is in charge does a shitty job. Plus the ones who do matter decide to leave because they proved that they can get through jyp
How can you throw away Hyorin and IU? They let CL walk away, junhoe won a singing competition, Donghyuk won a dance competition...both walked away
Its like a hakwon for music...idk how to explain it
YG didnt trade Junsu for CL. CL waited for YG in the parking lot to personally give him her audition tape.
CL used to go to JYP for dance class and that's how she met some 2PM boys, Min and Sohee
Have you seen him dance? He's dancing like he's flying, like he's so light. Besides he's kinda charming. But well, maybe he wouldnt be as famous as now since there are a lot of more handsome men in SM. And since SM is not really into hip hop, I doubt he would improve since he's not really a singer. He's just so good in composing song. Thas my personal opinion. Teehee. :)
Jyp lost luhan to sm and sm screw him up 😁
sm also lost zico, WHAT IF ZICO STAYED IN SHINEE -
[+36, 0] I don't get it... to be honest YG probably doesn't regret losing those people. They have so many kids earning more money for them than those people anyway ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
true !!!
It's the magic of half air half sound.
hongseok was in jyp? i think he can succeed even if he's not in yg! personally, i don't fits the typical "yg style" - i wonder why he chose yg~ he said himself in m&m that he rarely listens to hip hop music
I'm happy that Beast is who they are now so very much happy.. ❤️
SM: zico. My poor boy would've had to get a nose job for sure lmao
Sure of that. :'D
Nah, I really think he can fit YG's style if he wants to. Artists like AKMU siblings aren't exactly YG's style too but they fit in perfectly. Not to mention Nam Taehyun when he was auditioning for YG....I really thought he's so not YG but in the end he also fit perfectly. And Gummy....Hongseok sings ballad songs, pretty much like Gummy.
But I agree on why he chose YG instead of other companies. Probably because he thinks YG is the type to give freedom to his artists so they can explore themselves more? Idk ^^
YG: Zelo
SM : Rainbow Woori & Seungah, KARA Gyuri, 4minute Gayoon, Block B Zico
JYP : B2ST Kigwang, 4minute Hyuna
it's kind of informal school music. alot of idol went there before going to auditions and became trainee. you can find it on SM's wikipedia :)
winning auditions doesn't mean you have to be their trainee. if you didn't want to be one, then you'll just get the prize. an di think they'll get something to show that they've won an audition. idk..
and singing noona nomu yeppeo~
well,, JYP lost Infinite Hoya too...
